NAME:Taylor Swift BIRTH DATE:December 13, 1989 (Age: 25) PLACE OF BIRTH:Wyomissing, Pennsylvania

Born Taylor Alison Swift (December 13, 1989) in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, Taylor Swift followed the footsteps of her grandmother, a professional opera singer, and was singing at the age of 10.

The young singer was presented with the honor of singing "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a Philadelphia 76ers game when she was 11 before writing her own songs and mastering the guitar at the age of 12.

With Taylor's increasing talent, she and her family moved to Hendersonville, Tennessee, located near the country music capital, Nashville. After a memorable performance at The Bluebird Café in Nashville, Taylor signed her first recording deal with Scott Borchetta's Big Machine Records.

In 2006, Taylor released her first single "Tim McGraw," which became a Top 10 hit on the country charts. The debut of her self-titled album followed in October, selling more than 2.5 million copies and adding more top hits to her resume, including the No. 1 country hit "Our Song."

Taylor's debut was both a critical and commercial success, earning her the Horizon Award from the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Female Vocalist in 2007. A year later, Taylor won the Academy of Country Music Award for Female Vocalist of the Year, the American Music Award for Favorite Female Country Artist, and nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist .

Also during this time, Taylor's second album Fearless (2008) remained at the top of both the country and pop charts for 11 weeks, resulting in her becoming the highest-selling country artist by the end of the year after hitting the scene two years prior.

Taylor's effort on Fearless continued to be recognized in 2009, reaping in more awards, including Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for "Love Story" at the CMT Music Awards. In September of the same year, Taylor won her first moon-man for Best Female Video at the MTV Video Music Award, declaring her the first country music star to win a VMA. The win was quickly overshadowed when rapper Kanye West jumped on stage, took the microphone from Taylor's hand as she was about to give her acceptance speech, arguing that R&B singer Beyoncé deserved the award over Taylor. She was unable to give an acceptance speech but when Beyoncé later accepted her award for Best Video of the Year, she invited Taylor on stage to finish her acceptance speech.

Although embarrassing, the incident turned Taylor into an even bigger hit and success, with her third studio album Speak Now (2010) resulting in her earning the Grammy for Best Country Song ("Mean"), four CMA nominations for Female Vocalist, Music Video of the Year, Best Album and Entertainer of the Year, as well as six American Music Award nominations by 2011.

Taylor found even more success with the release of her fourth album Red (2012), which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. The album's lead single "I Knew You Were Trouble" went on to garnish her the MTV Video Award for Best Female Video while "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" earned a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year.

Taylor is currently working on songs for her fifth, untitled studio album.
