For better or worse, that Fifty Shades of Grey movie looks like it's actually going to get made.
It's got a screenwriter. It's got a newly hired director. It doesn't have a Christian Grey, however.
Reigniting an old rumor is Robert Pattinson himself, once believed to have been in the running for the book's lead character. The British actor threw a Great Gatsby-themed party for his friend Nick Jarecki on Saturday, inviting a who's-who of high-profile names, one of which was none other than E.L. James.
"It was a really good party," singer-songwriter Todd Michael Schultz, who was at the birthday bash, said to Hollywood Life. "It was a really good party. Trust me, it was the best people."
"E.L. James was there, she was really cool," he specified. "Dianne Warren, the songwriter, was there. Lisa Zane sang a few songs. Warren Beatty was there, chilling with E.L. James."
Having his own franchise ties to the Twilight series (which inspired Fifty Shades), Rob always seemed like an ideal candidate for the part since the nascent stages of the film adaptation.
However, E.L. has been pretty steadfast in the past, voicing her disapproval of Rob or Kristen Stewart for the project, but maybe she's had a change of heart?
