Oprah sat down with the pop songstress for a revealing one-on-one interview for her new show "Oprah’s Next Chapter" on OWN.
“I thought she was gonna be a badass, a hard edge rocker pop woman. Nothing could have been farther from the truth,” Oprah reveals in the trailer.
Oprah was mostly surprised at how “thoughtful” Rihanna was
“I’m super duper afraid of the pedestal that comes with fame,” Rihanna shares in the video clip.
There’s also a lot of crying, “it’s amazing how lonely you can feel” she shares. And a lot of F-bombs. Don’t think you can tame RiRi for too long.
Oprah also got Rihanna to open up about that fateful night with Chris Brown. To find out how Rihanna felt about her lover/assaulter, you’ll have to tune in on August 19 at 9:00 p.m. No teasers here.
Besides Oprah’s shock that Rihanna wasn’t guzzling vodka out of an IV the whole interview, she also pointed out, “I was surprised she was such a good driver. “
Rihanna took Oprah on a tour of her native Barbados in her old Suzuki SUV. The duo met Rihanna’s mom, Monica Fenty, for some kind of “surprise announcement.”
Rihanna also took Oprah around her neighborhood and talked about her family, her career and the passing of her grandmother.
To see Rihanna do anything other than smoke weed on a yacht in St. Tropez, I’d check out this interview. I’m actually pretty curious.
