It’s time to put up or shut up for Kris Humphries.
The basketball star and his lawyers will face off against his ex Kim Kardashian and her team in court today to decide whether or not their divorce case goes to trial. And, from the sounds of it, it seems like Kris doesn’t have a clue what he’s doing.
Both teams are expected to present their case to the judge and tell them why this should either go to trial or be settled outside of court like civilized human beings.
Kim and Kris are not expected at the hearing.
According to TMZ, Humphries’ team has yet to take Kim’s deposition. Today was the deadline that the judge set for depositions to be completed. In other words, Kris is nowhere near ready for this thing to go to trial.
What makes this significant is the fact that Kris has refused to settle with Kim, despite the fact that a prenuptial agreement was signed prior to their divorce, in which he was guaranteed nothing. If settled – which doesn’t seem possible – Kris would likely get more than if it goes to court.
Long story short, it seems as though Kris has brought his T-ball tee to a game of the major leagues. He appears to be refusing to cooperate at every corner, causing this whole divorce ordeal to be drawn out for the sake of being drawn out.
What will likely happen is the judge will bring the case to trial and Kris will scramble to try to make up for his lack of effort thus far. He’ll look like a fool and Kim will squash him like a bug under the heal of her Louis Vuittons.
If you’re unfamiliar with the case, Kris says that Kim deceived him and their marriage was a sham/publicity stunt from the beginning. He wants a payout to make up for it. Kim says no way and claims to have evidence of the contrary.
Yay, Hollywood marriages!
Update: Kris Humphries’ lawyer disguised a subpoena on Kanye West with a Nordstrom box. According to TMZ, the Trojan House-style sneak attack was delivered to Kim Kardashian’s house.
The stunt was revealed to the court by Kim’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, during a hearing that is currently still going on.
In the hearing it was also made clear that Kris’ lawyer, Marshall Waller, had held off on Kim’s deposition to buy him time to learn everything he needs to know about “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” The reason being is that Kris intends to put reality television on trial. Kris Jenner, as well as NBC Universal and Bunim/Murray, who produce the show, were served with subpoenas for that reason.
Wasser intends to prove that Kris and Kim’s marriage was not a fraud and make the baller pay for all of her attorney fees so far, totally a massive $250,000.
