We know that Kanye West moved into a career as a fashion designer, but has he left music to pursue a career as a club DJ also?
The controversial star made his DJ-Debut at the opening of the new nightclub 1 Oak at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Kanye DJ'd for 3 hours and spun under the name Yeezy World Peace.
That doesn't mean he's leaving his rap career, Kanye just added a new entry to his ever expanding resume. This rapper, producer and fashion designer is now a DJ. And while he may be fairly new at DJing, thanks to his famous name, he also demands a very high salary—one high profile Vegas insider tells Hollyscoop it can run as high as $1,000,000.
Kanye had played around with DJ'ing in London sometime around Christmas, and had everyone in the music world asking, "Is there anything Kanye West can't do?"
Let me follow up that question with another question. Who wants Kanye West to DJ their wedding? I do! I do!
However, we hear he doesn't come cheap. His asking price for a one-night DJ set is $500,000 to $1 million. Scratch that, I can’t afford that for my wedding.
During his debut DJ set, he played tunes from Michael Jackson, Lil Wayne, and of course his own music and his collabo project with Jay-Z, Watch The Throne.
Even though Kanye was acting as DJ that night, he still got on the Mic while he played his and Jay's hit single, "Ni--as in Paris." Good old Kanye, he's gonna rap even when he's supposed to just be a DJ.
After he wrapped up his Watch The Throne tour, he announced that he was available to DJ for New Years Eve and the new 1OAK nightclub at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Vegas took him up on his offer.
