Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are reportedly going to marriage boot camp, which we thought was a made up thing used as the premise for a bad romantic comedy, but apparently it’s a real thing.
Grazia magazine is reporting that Jen and Justin are attending “screaming sessions” at a marriage boot camp, “she thought it would be a good idea to start married life rid of any problems,” says the source.
At this boot camp, “they had to hand over their mobile phones and undertake counseling, couples massages and screaming therapy – where you howl your feelings out at the top of your voice.”
Sounds fun, but turns out it’s all just a rumor.
“Its all just more rubbish! Not true at all,” Jen’s rep tells Hollyscoop.
It may not be true, but what the heck IS Marriage Boot Camp?
It’s unclear which specific boot camp they supposedly went to, but marriage boot camp seems to be a condensed form of couples therapy.
One specific camp, appropriately titled MarriageBootCamp.com, says the program is a series of mental games, drills, competitions, skits, and experiential events that will raise your life and relationships to a new level.
So it’s summer camp for adults? Not exactly.
One of the major goals in this specific boot camp is to address baggage, to deal with past relationships so it cannot poison the current relationship. For example, Jen's first marriage to Brad Pitt and Justin's long-term relationship with Heidi Bivens, that he is rumored to have called off just so he could date Jen.
Marriage boot camps have been promoted by Dr. Phil & Dr. Drew as a way to save a marriage in a hurry.
