Soccer heartthrob David Beckham is a sneaky, sneaky man. The UK soccer stud headed to London to surprise unsuspecting fans as they took photos in an Adidas sponsored photo booth in support of Olympic Team GB.
As the fans waited in the photo booth and posed with funny faces, David Beckham unannounced would poke his head into the booth with a meek “Hello? Can I get in?” and watched as fan after fan erupted into fits of screaming, jumping and even some tears.
David posed for photos and hugs with all the elated fans, except for one little boy and his mother who erupted into joyful tears.
A little boy named Christian Lewis calls David Beckham his idol and when the soccer star popped his head into the photo booth, the little boy started bawling.
“It’s his hero,” the boys mother Elaine told The Daily Mail, “David Beckham just showed his face round the corner of the booth and said ‘can I jump in?’ My son started crying and it made me start crying too. It was absolutely amazing.”
Even with the 60 regular fans who were ambushed by Beckham in the photo booth, none had such a heartwarming and inspiring reaction as little Christian Lewis.
“It was a unique experience for me and the people who took part and there were some great reactions when we surprised them in the photo booth,” says Beckham.
It’s a shame that the Team GB Soccer squad didn’t pick Beckham for the team. They must be kicking themselves for not bringing this awe-inspiring player to the team. He’s not even on the team and still showed up for the photo booth prank.
Well, he does have that contract with Adidas so that may have something to do with it. Regardless, Beckham rocks and you'd have a hard time finding someone who says that he doesn't.
