Following the sudden death of “Glee” star Cory Monteith at just 31 years old on Saturday, the actor’s family, friends and fans are still coming to terms with his untimely passing.
Undoubtedly, the set of the Fox show in which he starred has also been shaken by the news. When “Glee” reconvened in Los Angeles yesterday—prepping for season five, initially to start shooting as early as next month—his closest colleagues and friends paid tribute to their late co-worker and friend.
“The whole cast and crew showed up wearing all black,” a source close to the set of “Glee” told Hollyscoop.
“They are all really torn up about it and did not shoot. They just discussed the death,” the source said. “Everyone has their own opinions on how they should handle the death on the show.”
Lea Michele, the actor’s on-screen love interest and off-screen girlfriend, wasn’t present.
For those who were, “There were grievance counselors on the set to help deal with this individually,” the source added.
The fifth season’s premiere date has already been reportedly postponed a month, set to air again sometime in November. Cory is featured heavily in the first two episodes’ scripts, both will be rewritten once it’s decided how to appropriately acknowledge his absence from the series.
