Christina Aguilera: I'm Unbreakable

Aha, so now we know why Christina Aguilera is calling her upcoming album “Lotus.”

Comparing herself to the lotus flower, Christina tells Hollyscoop exclusively at the American Music Awards nominations announcement event, “[The album cover] represents to me the lotus, the unbreakable flower that withstands the test of time, through the harshest weather conditions or any of the roughest roads, it thrives and it survives.”

Take a look at the album cover - It features a nearly nude X-Tina that dissolves into white light, and yeah, she does look like the flower. But was she afraid to bare all? Hardly! Laughing, she tells us, “Have I ever been scared to take risks, its kind of a no brainer at this point.”

“That’s how comfortable I am. I’m very comfortable with my body,” says Christina, “No matter what hairstyle, crazy make-up, I’ve always loved the excitement of risk taking and trying something different. People love it or hate it, but as long as I know I’m staying true to myself I just find it boring to play it safe.”

Pink hair, loud voice, outspoken…yeah, we think it’s safe to say Christina is always “doing Christina” and that’s why we love her.

As for her upcoming album, she tells us that the wait is worth it:

“I take my time between records because I like to experience life, I like to grow and evolve and then come out with something that’s representing myself at the moment.”

Christina’s new album “Lotus” will drop on November 13, 2012 and will be performing live on the American Music Awards which airs on November 18, 2012.
