Reason number one: to get paid. What, you need more reasons?
“For our family, we just wanted to control the experience,” Alba said regarding her own decision to sell photos of her daughter, Honor, in 2008.
Alba and her husband, Cash Warren, reportedly received $1.5 million from OK! magazine for those photos.
Jessica told CNN’s A.J. Hammer: “We put the money that the picture made into a bank account for Honor to do whatever she wants to do with."
Considering she's like four, I foresee a house filled with $1.5 million worth of cotton candy.
"It's her picture, it's her birth, and we didn't want it to be like a weird thing when we were walking out of the house for the first time."
There’s also the option of you know, putting the photo on Twitter or something. But I guess if you can get paid, you might as well get paid.
"If there's a price tag on your child - which is so bizarre - people will go to crazy lengths. We wanted to avoid that hysteria."
Yes, we wanted to avoid that hysteria. By totally giving into it.
Considering the fact that Beyonce had a DIY birth announcement that she did for free, I don’t see her selling any baby photos.
Jessica does have one reasonable piece of advice:
“You can give the money to charity.”
"But the biggest thing is having a healthy baby,” Alba says. “I'm sure Beyonce will make the best decision for her family."
