Amanda Bynes is ‘Gravely Disabled’ says Judge

Amanda Bynes’ doctors and parents attended a hearing today to learn if she’s well enough to leave the psychiatric hospital that she’s been held at for the last two weeks.

After the judge met with Amanda’s doctors, unfortunately she wasn’t deemed healthy enough to go home and has been placed on an extended 30-day psychiatric hold.

What everyone thought was just “bizarre” behavior is actually a severe mental illness, similar to schizophrenia.

Apparently the judge had to appear at the hospital to have the hearing, which speaks volumes about Amanda's mental state. She couldn’t even leave the hospital.

According to TMZ, 30-day psych holds are only granted if the patient is “gravely disabled as a result of a mental disorder.”

So, the latest news is that Amanda is “gravely disabled.” She’s stuck in a hospital for the next 30 days and her parents are still pursuing a temporary conservatorship to control her finances.
