For most of us, getting mistaken for a celebrity is usually awesome. For celebs, it’s not as awesome, because, well, they’re already celebs.
A handful of celebrities have often been mistaken for other celebrities. Sometimes they’re flattered, sometimes they’re annoyed. But at any rate, here are some notable celebrities who have been mistaken for other celebrities.
Zooey Deschanel & Katy Perry: Zooey didn’t take it very well when she was compared, looks-wise, to pop star Katy Perry. “It’s a little bit annoying to be totally blunt,” Zooey said. “The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike…I’m happy that she’s famous enough now that she’s not going out and being mistaken for me.” And she did it without a single Ukulele.
Lindsay Lohan & Lady Gaga: Last year, Lohan Tweeted: “What does it mean when an #americanairlines employee says “ah! lady gaga!” to me #jfk airport!!?" I’ll tell you what it means. That woman has no idea what 'Lady Gaga' means.
Elizabeth Banks & Chelsea Handler: Banks told Handler that she was sitting in Toronto when a man asked her for an autograph and complemented her book My Horizontal Life. When Elizabeth realized he thought she was Chelsea, she said: "I couldn't ruin it for him! I was like, 'It's nice to meet you.' I was just hanging out, being Chelsea, drinking my vodka and having a good time. He couldn't have been happier."
Lucy Hale & Selena Gomez: Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale bears and uncanny resemblance to Justin Bieber’s girlfriend. She once Tweeted an incident with a Belieber: “Someone was seriously convinced I was Selena Gomez today and tried to take my phone because they wanted to call Justin bieber. Ohh life.”
Josh Duhamel & Johnny Knoxville: Duhamel says he often gets mistaken for not just Johnny Knoxville, but also Timothy Olyphant and Ryan Seacrest. Josh says he’s “most proud” of the Seacrest comparison.
Glenn Close & Meryl Streep: Glenn Close says she was mistaken for Meryl Streep so often that she was nervous about costarring with her in Evening. When Close told Meryl about the case of mistaken identity, Meryl told her that one time a fan complimented her work in Fatal Attraction.
