Bangs McGee covers the May issue of ‘Marie Claire,’ and in the mag, she talks about everything from getting older to getting spat on.

“I’m a person who gets better with practice,” Zooey Deschanel tells ‘Marie Claire.’ “Getting older is awesome—because you get more practice.”

Oh sure, getting older is easy when you don’t have forehead wrinkles because your hair has been covering half your face for the past ten years.
Because Zooey Deschanel bears a resemblance to Katy Perry, rumors naturally started that Zooey and Russell Brand were probably going to get married and have babies. That’s just the way life works.

A close friend of Russell’s claimed that Brand was sending Zooey “funny, flirty texts to see if they can get together.”

"Russell is a big fan of Zooey and would love to work with her in the future.

Indie star-turned-Golden Globe nominee Zooey Deschanel is having one heck of a year, but life hasn’t always been peachy for Zooey. The actress says she has a major fear of bullies, stemming back to her school days.

“Girls spit in my face,” Zooey said. “People were so mean to me, I’d cry every day.”

Sad, but she's certainly not alone. Plenty of A-listers were picked on in their younger years, but those days are long behind them. Here are 10 celebs who were bullied as kids.
For most of us, getting mistaken for a celebrity is usually awesome. For celebs, it’s not as awesome, because, well, they’re already celebs.

A handful of celebrities have often been mistaken for other celebrities. Sometimes they’re flattered, sometimes they’re annoyed. But at any rate, here are some notable celebrities who have been mistaken for other celebrities.

Zooey Deschanel & Katy Perry: Zooey didn’t take it very well when she was compared, looks-wise, to pop star Katy Perry. “It’s a little bit annoying to be totally blunt,” Zooey said. “The only similarity that we have is that we look a little bit alike…I’m happy that she’s famous enough now that she’s not going out and being mistaken for me.” And she did it without a single Ukulele.
Ricky Gervais mentioned to insult the Hollywood Foreign Press, Jodie Foster, Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler within the first ten minutes of the Golden Globes.

Something tells me this year's Golden Globes could be even better than last year's.
Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard announced that they separated back in November, but TMZ is reporting that Zooey has now filed for divorce, and marked the official date of separation as October 31 aka Halloween. Spooky.

Zooey filed for divorce in LA on December 27, not exactly how you want to end the year, but what are you gonna do? I guess she took a cue from her celeb doppleganger Katy Perry and was like, "omigod
Reports surfaced this week that Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are officially engaged, and while their reps haven’t confirmed anything, we’re hoping this rumor is true. Because a holiday proposal is just so romantic!

If Timberlake did indeed get down on one knee, in the snow, with a backdrop of sparking Christmas lights and as a horse-drawn carriage passes—okay, I have no idea how it could’ve gone down, but in my mind, that’s how it happened. Anyway, if he did indeed propose to Jessica over the holidays, he’s certainly not the first. Here are 7 celebrities who got engaged during the Christmas holidays.

Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard: Sad endings aside, Zooey announced her engagement to Deathcab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard in December 2008. At the time, it was a match made in hipster heaven. I think they had the ceremony at Urban Outfitters.
Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux sent out their Christmas cards as a couple. Sending out joint Christmas cards before marriage? I don’t know what the Bible says about it, but you know celebrities. They always have to be so progressive.

The couple has sent out festive cards to their close family and friends, making donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. According to a source, the card reads:

"We wish you and your family a holiday season full of happiness & joy. A donation has been made in your name to St Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Best Friends Animal Society.”

They were a match made in hipster heaven. But like a good pair of cigarette jeans or an ironic mustache, all good things must come to an end.

Two years after saying "I Do", Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard are now saying. "Eh, actually, we really don't." The two have decided to separate, Deschanel's rep confirms.

"It was mutual and amicable," a source adds. "There was no third party involved."

Ben Gibbard is the front man for Death Cab for Cutie, and Zooey Deschanel is, of course, the annoyingly "adorkable" girl from the New Girl. And if we've learned anything from that mediocre sitcom, it's that Zooey Deschanel's cuteness can save anything.
Congrats to actress Zooey Deschanel and her 'Death Cab for Cutie' rocker beau Ben Gibbard, who tied the knot in a private ceremony this past weekend.

The couple said "I Do" in front of their closest friends and family members, including Natalie Portman and James Franco, in a ceremony near Seattle, Washington.

The lovebirds got engaged in December 2008 after dating for nearly a year. "Zooey was swept off her feet, and Ben is so excited," a friend said of the engagement at the time.

According to a source close to the couple, Zooey had been taking ballet classes to slim down before the wedding so she can fit into her svelte wedding dress.

A source said: "Zooey has been taking classes at Pure Barre in Los Angeles to prepare for the wedding. She has been doing workouts which are based on ballet barre work back-to-back. She'll take a class, wait 15 minutes, and then take another."

Congrats to the couple, can't wait to see photos of the wedding! Who do you think is next?
