Zoe Saldana and her fiancé Keith Britton have called it quits after nearly 11 years together. That’s like 5 lifetimes in Hollywood.
In a statement, Zoe’s rep said the pair "have amicably separated after 11 years. Saldana and Britton remain committed business partners as co-founders of fashion resource MyFDB.com. Respect of their privacy is appreciated during this time."
Zoe has been really private about her relationship. We didn’t even know she had a serious boyfriend until she announced their engagement in June 2010.
She announced the news last June saying Keith is a "very independent soul".
She said: "I feel like the partners that stay at home, they have their lives, but they’re the ones that are living with the real you.
"I think that they need to be recognized, every now and then, every 10 years, just come out in public - put him on the spot and just say thank you.
"He’s a very independent soul. He understands what I do, but this is not what he fell in love with and that’s what I love."
Just last month Zoe told Hollyscoop that planning her wedding has been “a lot of work” adding that it’s “harder to plan a wedding than director a short [movie]”.
But its doubtful that the relationship didn’t work simply because it was hard to plan the wedding. Maybe that excuse could work for a couple who splits after 72 days, but not a decade long relationship.
I’m really bummed these two split, they seemed so genuine. And 11 years is no joke. That’s longer than 98% of all relationships in Hollywood. Zoe was so private about their relationship, they would hardly ever attend red carpets together, unless it was a huge one, like the Oscars. She barely spoke about the relationship, but when she did she only had nice things to say.
Zoe hasn’t made any comments about why they split up but she took to her twitter account to post a cryptic message. She tweeted: "'You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.’ – Buddha."
Looks like Demi and Ashton started a trend with cryptic messages about their relationship.
But just because the wedding is off, doesn’t mean their business is on hold. They’re going to continue to work together on their joint business venture, fashion website My Fashion Date Base.
