Zac Efron has graduated from High School Musical and is now sharing the stage with one of the most renowned men in theater. Zac stars in the upcoming film Me and Orson Welles, and told Hollyscoop the ten second scoop on why we need to see it!
“I think it’s incredibly fun. This is a very real weak putting on a play. And the scramble and excitement comes with it,” he said.
Zac said shooting the film was a blast, but the fans seemed to always know where he was at all times! He said, “It’s one thing that is very special about this experience, well at least it has been for me; the support from the fans and I’m very grateful for it. As long as they don’t weird out the other people we are working with. Actually the cast enjoyed it more than I did; they had fun talking with the kids.”
Fans may think Zac is a huge star, but he tells Hollyscoop he gets starstruck all the time! “Well, oh yeah, all the time are you kidding?” he gushed. “The other day I ran into DiNiro in a bathroom and he was washing his hands while I was washing my hands and I was just looking at him; completely stuck. He walked out and it was kind of awkward.”
Well, it may make Zac feel better to know that even Robert Pattinson sort of crushes on him. Rob told Ok! recently, “I met Zac Efron. He was a really cool guy. That was one of the first times I’d ever been star-struck, but just because his face is so specific, it’s kind of surreal.”
Another person who had big shoes to fill is Claire Danes, who plays Zac’s older love interest in the film. She told us it was great playing the character. “I recommend being wooed by Zac. He is such a sweetheart, and talented too. I was aware of his celebrity. I mean who was not, but I didn’t have a sense of him as an actor but I was very impressed. He is gifted, very present, and that charm just shoots out of him.”
As for Claire’s life when she’s not doing films, she says it’s definitely not as crazy when it comes to fans. “I am really lucky. I grew up and still live in New York. My friends have been around since I was two so there is that sense of continuity and consistency that is incredibly grounding. I have great family and I really love doing this for the right reasons. I love acting and I’m happy in the medium.”
