The film is based on the true story and 2005 biography 'Yes Man' by British humorist Danny Wallace. The film is inspiring and gives viewers a reality check that lies in the word “yes.”
Although the thought of saying Yes to everything can be liberating, it can also be a little dangerous. Imagine all those telemarketing phone calls you would have to say Yes to, instead of slamming the phone while they are in the middle of their sales pitch.
When Hollyscoop caught up with Jim Carrey, we asked him what he thought was the most dangerous thing he has said yes too. “Armed robbery,” Carrey said jokingly at the Los Angeles premiere. "I’ve sat in front of the train tracks figuratively and literally in my life.”
Carrey’s character says “yes” to outrageous things in the film as well, such as bungee jumping, learning Korean and even getting a mail order Bride all in hopes to change his monotonous, lonely life.
"Yes Man" is the perfect movie for the holiday season. For 104 minutes you will forget about your mortgage payment, terrorists and the plunging stock market.
“The world needs something good and fun and just light hearted and also kind of makes you think about engaging in life a little more,” said Carrey in regards to why we should watch this film. The film also stars the Hollywood hunk Bradley Cooper, Zooey Deschanel, Danny Masterson and John Michael Higgins, among others.
Make sure to say YES, this weekend to watch Yes Man, in the meantime check out our special video coverage from the film premiere below.

Who will reign at the box office? We'll have to wait until Monday to find out, but if you are planning on visiting the theaters, here are this weeks new releases:
Seven Pounds: Ben Thomas is an IRS agent with a fateful secret who embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers.
Yes Man: A man signs up for a self-help program based on one simple principle: say yes to everything... and anything. At first, unleashing the power of "yes" transforms his life in amazing and unexpected ways, but he soon discovers that opening up his life to endless possibilities can have its drawbacks.
The Tale of Despereaux: Tiny and graced with oversized ears, Despereaux was born too big for his little world. Refusing to live his life cowering, he befriends a Princess named Pea and learns to read (rather than eat) books -- reveling in stories of knights, dragons and fair maidens.

In the flick, Jim challenges himself to say "yes" to everything for an entire year. He learned quickly that one word can change everything.
Hollyscoop caught up with the hilarious actor at the ‘Yes Man’ press junket in Los Angeles to get the low-down on his very eccentric character.
Hollyscoop: So is Jim a Yes man or a No man?
Jim Carrey: “I would say Yes even when I say No. You know sometimes saying no is saying yes to your own self word. You know what I’m saying? No, I like to enjoy life. I like to engage in life. So, I’ll say I’m a yes man. I said yes to so many things from a sex change to a gastric bypass surgery. So, it always paid off for me. I kept the weight off.”
HS: So why should we watch this movie?
Carrey: “Mostly just to have a good laugh, and to feel good in your heart. I think not only is it a funny movie, but I think you’ll really believe the love story and the friendships and so I think there is a lot to walk away with. But I guess the only thing is that if there is, then to just engage in life. Say yes more than you do know. Maybe a little bit more than you did before. And you know kinda life turns out alright. Usually you regret the things you say no too.”
HS: Why should people pay $10 to see this movie?
Carrey: “You know when people are not doing as well as they like to be doing, having a laugh is the perfect escape.”
HS: What’s the stupidest thing you’ve said Yes to?
Carrey: So many. I never said I regret doing this project.
HS: In this film one of your characters Carl and Renee are into doing spontaneous romantic things. What’s the most spontaneous and romantic thing you’ve ever loved?
Carrey: When I proposed to my wife I had no, I almost had no intention of doing it. And it really popped out of my mouth on a Tuesday at about 4 o’clock. I think your supposed to go somewhere and do something, but it just came out completely accidentally. It was a truly spontaneous moment and I suppose it was romantic when she did say yes and laughed at me, but she did say “Yes” so I think that’s a pretty safe answer to that question. It was not planned at all and it was Tuesday and I swear I was sitting in a chair and I turned, we had a particularly good day and I asked her to marry me.

Jim Carrey took quite the plunge yesterday on the set of his new movie Yes Man. He was seen bungee jumping for the role, which is a guy who agrees to say to everything for an entire year.
That's scary! I'm all for adventure, but I think I'll leave the bungee jumping to the professionals…and the amusement park goers.
