The prehistoric creatures of Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs are a force to be reckoned with! Ice Age and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen are tied at the box office with $42.5 million apiece!

Both studios reported estimated takings of US$42.5mil for the weekend, but some box office analysts say Ice Age could jump into the top spot thanks to strong ticket sales at theatres showing it 3D.

Johnny Depp’s Public Enemies came in at the No. 3 spot, with The Proposal at No. 4.

Here are the top ten movies from the July 3-5 weekend:

1 (tie). Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs: $42.5 million.

1 (tie). Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen: $42.5 million.

3. Public Enemies: $26.2 million.

4. The Proposal: $12.8 million.

5. The Hangover: $10.4 million.

6. Up: $6.6 million.

7. My Sisters Keeper: $5.3 million.

8. The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3: $2.5 million. 9 (tie). Year One: $2.1 million.

9. (tie). Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian: $2.1 million.

Move over Bradley Cooper, it's Sandra Bullock's turn for the spotlight. The romantic comedy The Proposal dominated the box office this weekend, knocking down The Hangover for the number one spot bringing in $34 million dollars opening weekend.

But have no fear Bradley Cooper fans, his movie is still rocking! The Hangover and Disney Pixar's Up rounded out the top three with $26 and $21 million dollars respectively. Here are the top ten movies from the June 19-21 weekend:
