'X Factor' Auditions Move To New England
Some of the biggest Hollywood stars arrived in the smallest state of the country today.
“The X Factor” took their talent search to Providence, Rhode Island where Demi, Britney, Simon, and L.A. arrived at the Dunkin’ Doughnuts Center to fans waiting patiently for their chance to shine.
No, that’s not a joke… They actually went to Providence. Even with the odd city choice, the judges were well received.
Fans and “The X Factor” hopefuls screamed for the judges as, one by one, they emptied out of black SUVs. First came Demi Lovato, then L.A. Reid, then Britney Spears who by far got the most cheers.
Britney returned the enthusiasm tweeting, “So ready for @TheXFactorUSA auditions in Providence tomorrow. Let's see what you got East coast!”
The judges took their time walking up a narrow walkway to the arena lined with photographers and waving hands. They posed for photos and signed autographs. Faces in the screaming crowd held up signs like "WE (heart) DEMI" and iPhones to record the moment.
WPRI news was on the scene to get some reactions from the audience.
"We screamed," one female fan told the source. "There's like 20 of us supporting them... We hope they do really well."
Another person chimed in, “"We're sort of lucky, because we're sort of on the smaller side."’
Our thoughts exactly….
Despite the city’s petite size, the Dunkin’ center is actually quite large. The indoor arena can seat 13,000, which – if filled - will be the amount of people watching each audition as the contestants sweats it out on stage.
With all the hype that has resulted from the freshly reworked judges’ panel, the audition tour for season 2 is attracting tons of media attention. Surely Simon is breathing a little easier after The Hollywood Reporter officially ruled Ryan Seacrest as a more powerful being.
After finishing up in Providence, the gang will make their way to Greensboro, North Carolina to check out the talent there.
