Report: Katy Perry & Mariah Carey to Join the X-Factor

Now that Nicole Scherzinger, Paula Abdul and host Steve Jones have all been fired from The X Factor it has sent tongues wagging over who will replace them on the singing show. The replacements have to be music A-List, I mean, there’s a reason Paula, Nicole and Steve were fired, you guys.

Rumor has it that Mariah Carey, Katy Perry and even Nicki Minaj are in talks to join the judging panel of the X Factor. Okay, Nicki Minaj is kind of a wild card, I mean, how much “I love you barbz!” can we really handle during one season?

Katy Perry is really being buzzed about after she was a guest judge on American Idol. Also, Carey has been rumored to join X-Factor since last season when she was supposed to mentor one of the judges during the judge’s house round.

A source told The Mirror, “Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor – and Mariah is the best.”

However, Nick Cannon has publicly spoken out about Mariah refusing to do the show. Even though Nick cannon hosts America’s Got Talent, he thinks talent competition shows are “beneath” his wife.

“Why would my wife want to be on a show like that? For somebody who has a legendary career, I don’t know why they would.”

There’s also some buzz that Cheryl Cole, who was on The X Factor for a day before getting axed is maybe back in the picture. However, I thought the problem with Cole was her thick accent, I mean, we aren’t dummies, but her accent is ridiculously hard to understand. The ex factuh? Thu ox factory? The uhck actor?

She has been getting more popular since her firing at the start of the Season, so who knows.

Meanwhile, Simon has finally released an official statement about the shake-ups happening at the X-Factor.

“We change these shows all the time,” says Cowell, “I want to say a massive thank you to Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of The X Factor last year. I’m sure all three are going to have massive success in what they do next, but now is the time to thank them all for everything they did last year.”
