Former Fugees star and philanthropist Wyclef Jean is being honored by Harvard University this Saturday for his contribution to music and his philanthropic efforts.
Jean will be honored at the Massachusetts institution's Cultural Rhythms ceremony this Saturday.
Jean has been busy helping raise funds and sending aid to his homeland Haiti after the devastating earthquake that his last month.
Foundation director, S. Allen Counter, has praised his determination to aid relief efforts in his homeland.
He says, "His contributions to music and distinguished history of creativity have been appreciated by people throughout the world. He is admired worldwide for his humanitarian efforts on behalf of the people of Haiti."
Will Smith, Sharon Stone, Denzel Washington and Halle Berry have all received the same honor by Harvard in the past, but this year it's very fitting to have Wyclef Jean be honored. He's done so much for Haiti, it's nice to see his efforts haven't gone unnoticed.
