Haiti Denies Wyclef of Presidency Run

Wyclef Jean has been given the boot. According to the LA Times, the singer was taken out of the running of the president of Haiti.

He apparently didn’t make the final list of approved candidates who meet the legal requirements to run in the country. An electoral officials says the main reason is that he doesn’t even live in Haiti—he lives in New Jersey.

The unnamed official told the paper, "He is not on the list as I speak.”

But Jean did not meet several other legal requirements as well. The full list of approved candidates is expected to be announced today.

Well, he can look on the bright side that now those death threats he was receiving will probably stop! Seemed like he was taking on a little bit more than he could manage anyway!
