It’s been a few decades since John Lennon’s death, but his influence and impact remain. From rock ‘n rollers to poets to artists, Lennon is often cited as their idol.
To honor John Lennon’s death, and celebrate his life and legend, here’s what celebs have to say about the icon.
Drew Barrymore: “Anything in life, whatever your question is for the universe, if you put on a John Lennon song, he will answer you. I think ‘Watching the Wheels’ is the song I love the most, because it is so true. I completely feel like that song.”

The former Fugees singer once sat in freezing cold January morning weather to watch President Obama get sworn into office.
"I know it's gonna be dirt cold," Jean said at the time. "On camera, it's going to look like I have one coat on, but I'mma have 17 sweaters under that, 'cause there's nobody takin' my seat!"

Now one of those law firms whose billboards you see on the side of a public bus, 1-800-LAW-FIRM, is suing Gaga claiming she is pocketing a portion of the charity money and refused to reveal how much is actually going to the Japanese victims.
This isn’t the first time that celebs have been involved in a not-so-charitable donation scam.

He was shot in the hand after 11 p.m. in Delmas, Haiti on Saturday and had to be treated for his wound.
"I have confirmed from Wyclef that he was immediately taken to the hospital, treated for a minor graze to his hand and released," his spokesperson confirmed in a statement. "He is fine."
According to TMZ, Wyclef says he had just left his car, when he heard gunfire. He says the next thing he noticed he saw blood on his shirt and shoes. He has no idea if he was the target.
He was shot the night before the country's presidential runoff election, but apparently he's still committed.
"Wyclef's commitment to his native country and to his people is unparalleled," his rep adds. "He is therefore undeterred by this incident."
Glad to hear he’s doing fine!

The news was confirmed on his Twitter, which read: “Information from an inside source has confirmed @wyclef has been hospitalized due to Stress and Fatigue.”
A source told Billboard, "He has been following a very heavy schedule that has taken him to Europe twice, Asia and Africa, at the same time he's working to finish his upcoming album and he has been meeting with a few head of States during the General Assembly Session at the U.N.”
When he feels better, Wyclef says he’s getting right back into the music game. The singer announced that his focus would turn instead to promoting a new album.
Probably a good choice…running for president of Haiti did seem a little far fetched. We hope he feels better!

After getting criticized for his run for presidency, Wyclef Jean has officially kissed his hopes of being Haiti President goodbye.
After getting criticized for his run for presidency, Wycelf has officially pulled out of the November election.
"This was not an easy conclusion to reach; but it is one that was thoughtfully made, taking into account many, many competing factors and weighing the course that will best advance the healing of the country and help it find the quickest path to recovery," he explained in a statement.
He had originally announced his decision to run in early August, but Haiti's Provincial Electoral Council disqualified him. According to Us Weekly, Haitian law demands that candidates reside in the country for at least five years, and Jean has lived in New Jersey with his wife and daughter during that time.
So what's on his agenda now? He's returning to music full time. Good idea! has officially pulled out of the November election.

Wyclef has accused Sean of not noticing all the good work he's done for Haiti, because he was too busy snorting cocaine.
He said: "I got a message for Sean Penn - maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine."
When Wycleft first announced his intention to run, Sean said he felt Wyclef’s campaign was "about a vision of flying around the world, talking to people."
He later said: “As an ambassador at large, he has been virtually silent.” He also wrote in a newspaper column: “None among us felt or expressed anger toward it, but rather a universal sadness for his silence, as he is America's most admired cultural link to Haiti."
A rep for Sean, Mara Buxbaum, said in a statement: “Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body’s immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous.
“More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. "As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising."
Haiti's electoral officials already declared that he was ineligible to run, so what's the point of them lashing out at each other in the press? Oh that's right, it's fun.

He apparently didn’t make the final list of approved candidates who meet the legal requirements to run in the country. An electoral officials says the main reason is that he doesn’t even live in Haiti—he lives in New Jersey.
The unnamed official told the paper, "He is not on the list as I speak.”
But Jean did not meet several other legal requirements as well. The full list of approved candidates is expected to be announced today.
Well, he can look on the bright side that now those death threats he was receiving will probably stop! Seemed like he was taking on a little bit more than he could manage anyway!

Wyclef says he’s running in order to put a stop to "the corruption that's been going on for the past 200 years."
But whether or not Wycelf will even be legally allowed to run is up to the electoral commission of Haiti. Candidates must have lived in Haiti for five straight years before an election, but Jean says his 2007 appointment as a roving ambassador exempts him from the residency requirement.
This follows criticism from actor Sean Penn, who has also been involved in rebuilding Haiti since the earthquake. He questions Wyclef’s intentions, as well as his credentials.
There is no word on Wyclef’s current whereabouts, but the threats instructed him to leave the country immediately, so he may have left temporarily. Story developing…

Wyclef announced this week that he's going to run for President of Haiti, but Sean isn't impressed with the news. He's convinced that Wyclef has misused money donated to his Yele Haiti foundation and it's going to come back to haunt him.
Penn says "He has been virtually silent for those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence. His voice has really been most loudly that which allegedly (sic) has taken over 400,000 dollars designated for Haitian relief for himself and claims he didn't do it. That has to be looked into.
"I've been there. I know what 400,000 dollars could do for these people's lives and for a 24-year-old girl right now who is dying. So, I want to see someone who is really, really willing to sacrifice for their country and not just someone who I personally saw with a vulgar entourage of vehicles that demonstrated a wealth in Haiti that - in context, I felt (was) a very obscene demonstration."
Every politician has skeletons in their closet, so we really wouldn't be surprised. But than again, he really has raised a lot of funds for Haiti. Whose side are you on?
