Everyone was upset Tuesday amid rumors that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett were splitting. In fact, that wasn't an earthquake on the east coast yesterday. That was everyone running to their rooms, slamming the door and crying in bed. But Will and Jada squashed the rumors relatively quickly, and we all breathed a collective sigh of relief. The couple released the following statement:
"Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false. We are still together, and our marriage is intact."
Now, the couple has allegedly met with their legal team. A source close to the situation told RadarOnline:
"Will and Jada are not splitting and they’ve already got their legal team involved. Like any other A-list couple they’re used to inaccurate reports sometimes, but when it comes to their marriage, they don’t appreciate anyone demeaning it.”
According to the source, the couple is discussing the situation with their lawyers to see how and if they need to proceed.
"They’re good sports and they’re laughing about it, but they have to talk about it with their legal council to protect themselves."
Or are they getting their lawyers ready for other reasons? I hate to suggest it, but when rumors like this surface, there's usually a reason why. Look at J.Lo and Marc.
Sources connected to the couple tell TMZ that Will and Jada are having problems in heir marriage, and while they haven't decided to separate, "it's definitely a possibility." According to the source, the entire family is going away on a trip together soon.
In the meantime, these are just rumors and, at least in my head, Will and Jada are a happy couple until I hear otherwise. I just don’t have the time to deal with the heartache right now.
It's like Will and Jada are the marriage gods for all of Hollywood. They seem to have it all figured out. Hollyscoop recently talked to Jada's Hawthorne costar, Michael Vartan, who said of the two:
"Jada has been marred to Will for years, they’re an amazing couple."
And as far as rumors of her and Marc Anthony hooking up—just because they're having an affair on the show doesn’t mean that's happening in real life. Sure, they've shared some racy onscreen love scenes, but Vartan says of those:
"There are literally 30 people around. There is the camera operator, saying 'now move your elbow so you can hide her nipple and kiss this way and move your hair out of her face and do this.' It is literally the most unromantic thing you could ever do."
