I Am Legend Prequel In The Works

Am I Legend director Francis Lawrence has confirmed he's working on a prequel to his box office hit I Am Legend. Will Smith will be returning to revive his character of Dr. Robert Neville. Lawrence says, "Absolutely, we're actually trying to crack that. We're trying to figure out some ideas for it, but yes, it would be a prequel."

But he says this time around will be a much easier feat than the first time around, because they won't have to shut down huge areas of NYC for scenes. He says, "The first time you go out there and shut down 6th Avenue, it's like, 'How are we going to do this day after day after day?' But by the end, it's just like you know how to do it.

"You got the PA's who know how to shut it down, how to let the traffic through in between set-ups and you just sort of get the routine down, so that's not the issue."

Sure, the production people got it down, but that makes for a whole lot of pissed-off New Yorkers! Traffic is bad enough in that city as it is!
