He surrendered shortly before noon today at a federal prison in Pennsylvania where he will serve a three-year sentence for failing to file his taxes.
Traci Billingsley, chief public information officer for the Bureau of Prisons, said: "Wesley Snipes has self surrendered to the minimum-security Federal Prison Camp at the Federal Correctional Institution McKean, in Bradford, Pennsylvania."
Fellow spokesperson Ed Ross added: "He surrendered a short time ago and is now inside the facility. He'll go through an orientation process and will begin serving his sentence."
Mr. I'm Too Cool To Pay My Taxes was convicted in April 2008 of three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file income taxes and has spent the last two years unsuccessfully trying to appeal the ruling.

She says that celebs who break the law are being used as scapegoats by the government to deter other people from criminal activity. She says, "This is not unusual. With tax evasion, (the IRS) gets very, very agitated and if you're famous they are putting you behind some kind of bar."
Uh, yeah, so what's your point, Whoopie? Isn't that what the law is for, to punish people who break it, and set an example for others?

The judge sentenced Snipes the max which is 3 years for evading federal income taxes.
The lesson to be learned is to never cheat your taxes.
