Wanda Sykes to Host White House Correspondents Dinner

Wanda Sykes has landed herself a hosting gig! She’s not one to shy away from the camera, which made her the perfect candidate to host this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington. She’d better get her Obama jokes ready because the President himself is expect to attend.

And this isn’t just any old dinner. It’s a black-tie affair at the Hilton in D.C., and will boast a guest list of 2000 people, including White House press corps, Washington elite, and of course, Hollywood celebrities. What’ a party these days without a couple stars?

Wanda says, "The first thing I did when they asked me to do this gig—I made sure my taxes were paid," taking a dig at the withdrawal of former U.S. Sen. Tom Daschle from Obama's cabinet due to unpaid taxes.

She also said the idea of performing for such a high-profile group of people was “scary but exciting.”

Wanda doesn’t have much of a filter, but that’s what we love about her humor! We’re sure she’ll be great at loosening up those stuffy Washington types!
