Whitney Houston Died From Prescription Drugs, Not Drowning

New details surrounding Whitney’s Houston’s death emerge as sources of Whitney Houston’s family members speak out. On Saturday, Whitney was found in the bathtub at the Beverly Hilton, where she was getting ready for a Pre-Grammy party. Sources say that the family was told by L.A. County Coroner officials the singer did not die from drowning, but rather from what appears to be a combination of Xanax and other prescription drugs mixed with alcohol. While there were no illegal substances found in Houston's hotel room, there were prescription drugs. Coroner's officials informed the family that there was not enough water in Whitney's lungs, therefore she did not drown. They also say a heart attack is a likely cause. Officials are saying there is no evidence to suspect foul play. Although the autopsy has been concluded, toxicology results could take weeks to come back.
