The infamous black gown that Audrey Hepburn wore in our all time favorite flick Breakfast at Tiffany’s has sold for about $800,000 at Christie’s in London by a mystery buyer .
The bidding war for the Givenchy size 6 dress ended when a mysterious telephone caller winning the auction, paying 6 times more than the original estimate. The auction also broke records for the highest bid for a gown in a film.
Rumor has it that Victoria Beckham was actually the mysterious buyer. Victoria owns one of Audrey Hepburn’s diamond chokers and has expressed interest in the lot. Posh’s spokeswhore said, “I have no idea if she’s been involved in the bidding and Christie’s would not comment on who won the bidding, but did say they lived in Europe."
