It’s been a while since we watched Mean Girls (fine, last weekend), so correct us if we’re wrong, but: Mel C is sounding a lot like a Regina Spice.
Better known as Sporty Spice, Melanie Chisholm (yup, the Spice Girls that aren’t Victoria Beckham have last names too, apparently) didn’t hold back her bitterness for her former bandmate.
Where all once upon a time British stars go to wrist slap each other, Mel C went right to the Daily Mail.
"We were disappointed that Victoria didn't arrive with us on the red carpet at the [Spice Girls' musical Viva Forever] premiere, I'm not going to lie," Mel C said to the U.K. tabloid. "For her that evening was about her family, and that's what she wanted to do."
"But we're all grown-ups and we've been through so much," the 39-year-old added.
"If somebody wants to do something a certain way, then we are not going to kick up a fuss about it,” she said in a quote that was doing exactly that: kicking up a fuss about it.
She also managed to somehow turn a profitable empire into a bad thing. "Brand Beckham is huge and they've worked so hard at building that huge empire. I really feel for Victoria actually, because you can see whenever we meet up, she walks into a room and all eyes are on her. That's a huge pressure."
No comment from Victoria at this time. She's probably...busy.
Besides learning Mel C knows how to throw shade, the most important lesson gleaned here was one on How To Be a Spice Girl. There are rules.
“The rules of the Spice Girls are that we do really respect each other, and that's all part of it,” Mel C said. “That's what she wanted to do, so that's what she did.'"
And here you were thinking the first rule of Spice Girls was knowing how to properly throw a peace sign. Amateurs!
