It’s the return of Clark Griswold! According to The Hollywood Reporter, New Line is meeting with writers to develop another sequel to the Vacation movies.
The plot has already been decided: The story focuses on Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold. Rusty, now a father himself, takes his family on a road trip vacation.
And you know it has to be funny because Wedding Crashers director David Dobkin is attached to produce and possibly direct.
The reason we like this idea is because Warner Brothers isn’t trying to remake the classic. Rather, the characters in the sequel will acknowledge the first trip, and make the sequel its very own entity.
No word on casting quite yet, but we’re hoping for at least a cameo by Chevy Chase. What’s a Vacation without him?!
