Usher Takes On Broadway

Usher

R & B king Usher has changed roles and is taking on Broadway as lawyer Billy Flynn in “Chicago”. The singer took the stage on Tuesday night and rocked a sold out show which included music heavyweight Clive Davis.

In regards to singing on Broadway Usher exclaimed at the after party: "I think music is like a monogamous relationship. But acting in theatre is like having a different woman every night." The 27-year-old gushed: "I'm happy to be on Broadway and sing and dance. I enjoyed it." Usher revealed how appearing on Broadway has been one of his ambitions since he was a child. He said: " Many years ago I decided to become an entertainer. I didn't really know what that meant until I began to look at other people who had become the motivating force for me to do what I do like Bob Fosse and Sammy Davis Jr. I looked at all of the people who were real entertainers. They had the ability to be triple threats: dance, sing and act." Usher added: "I've danced. I've sang and done exceedingly well. I've acted and done well. I want the opportunity to be able to say, 'You can't call me a half entertainer'. I'm not. I've done it all." All we can say is Yeah Yeah Yeah!!
