ABC Puts Ugly Betty on Hold

In a surprising move, ABC announced today that they plan on putting their hit show Ugly Betty on hold affective March 26.

The reason? They plan on bringing back Christina Applegate's Samantha Who? and launch a new comedy called In the Motherhood, starring Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines, reports E!

"Betty had an audience of about 8 million at the start of the current third season, but then consistently lost about a million viewers each week, sinking as low as 3.6 million. Last years audience brought in more than 9 million."

Last night during the SAG Awards red carpet, America Ferrera said everything was going just "great" on the set.

So she was either left in the dark about the news, or she's confidant her show will return and triumph. What do you think of the new season? Better than ever or a big bore?
