Executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson said in a joint statement: “We’ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty’s final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion. We are extremely proud of this groundbreaking series, and felt it was important to give the fans a proper farewell.”
While we’re saddened, this shouldn’t come as a total shock to fans, seeing as though the ratings have dipped significantly since the premiere of the show. EW also confirmed that show bosses are already planning a really good show finale.
So long, Betty!

Industry sources tell Fox411 Liza has inked a deal for a recurring role as the drama teacher named Lena Korvinka for Justin Suarez.
The insider says, “There were massive rumors last year, then again in early January that Liza was being courted for the show, but Liza originally hadn’t planned to do the show. Ugly Betty producers presented her with a great offer and a hilarious story and they kept coming back to her. She’s going to be playing an outrageous drama teacher and it is going to be fun! Liza is excited to be playing another off-the-wall character like Lucille on ‘Arrested Development.’”
The cast is reportedly ecstatic to have her on board, and Liza even put her new job ahead of her health! She was scheduled to have knee surgery on February 12th, but has postponed it. Let’s hope the role doesn’t require any stunts!

Show creator Silvio Horta tells People, “We’re huge fans of Shakira. We had a very memorable moment in the third episode where Betty has a makeover that goes wrong and she struts down the street to ‘Hips Don’t Lie.’ We’ve mentioned her several times over the course of the series and have always wanted to work with her. She’s an enormous Latina icon, as is Betty, and we thought it was a perfect fit.”
On Shakira’s episode she helps to get a Mode photo shoot get back on track when the magazine is on location in the Bahamas. The episode is entitled “The Bahamas Triangle.”

They love to bring people to the set to shoot an episode or two! And the latest to join the cast is model Brooklyn Decker, who is also known as Mrs. Andy Roddick!
According to Page Six, Brooklyn will co-star alongside America Ferrera as her co-worker at Mode.
Earlier in the week, Decker Twittered, saying, “Working on an amazing set!! Can’t tell you guys what it is… Just yet. But I can tell you.. I’m loving it and can’t wait to spill the beans!”
We’re excited to see her on the show! And if she’s playing a co-worker, maybe she’ll be on for more than just a quick cameo! That’ll definitely get the guys to tune in to the show!

According to Entertainment Weekly, Johnson landed the role after Paula’s contract fell through.
She jokingly says of her new role, “I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul.”
Kristen also gave some details on the role, saying, “[Helen is] Amanda in 10 years. She’s still trying to get into the right clubs, wearing tight dresses… tragic. I think [Helen] sees herself as Samantha from Sex and the City. Except, of course, she’s a temp.”
Tune in to see Kristen make her Ugly Betty debut on the show’s two-hour season opener, airing October 9th on ABC.

And now Paula has snagged herself a guest appearance on one of the biggest shows on TV! According to EW Paula is in negotiations to appear on Ugly Betty next season!
Details haven’t been revealed, but sources say Paula won’t play herself; rather a new temp at Mode who bonds with Amanda, played by Becki Newton.
Quitting Idol could be the best thing that ever happened to Paula! Now she can bounce around town doing guest appearances on every cool show!

The 39-year-old star is very “excited” about the idea of becoming a mother. During the last season of Ugly Betty, Ashley's character Christina becomes pregnant.
She's also set to star on a new show Accidentally on Purpose, which is about a woman who unexpectedly discovers she is expecting a baby. What a weird coincidence!
Ashley and Terence married in California in 2007 after six years of dating. Congrats!

That girl’s going to be working overtime between that and her role on Entourage!
According to EW, Jamie-Lynn has been cast in the role of Natalie, who is Daniel’s (Eric Maibus) new assistant. Jamie-Lynn will reportedly be "sexy, spiritual, and fun."
We wonder if this means the beginning of an office romance between Daniel and Natalie? He is, after all, right in the middle of his grieving process, mourning the death of his wife Molly, who died of cancer. Will Daniel go back to his playboy ways?
Tune in next season to find out! Natalie will be a recurring character in the show's fourth season, starting with the season premiere on October 9th!
A source tells the tabloid, “Susan has been bombarded with offers of work in America, but this is something she is really keen on and we hope to make happen. She will definitely play herself.”
A spokesperson for the star would neither confirm nor deny those reports, simply stating: “Susan has many offers on the table. At the moment she is looking forward to recording her album.”
Our advice? Take everything that comes your way! This town has a way of forgetting people really fast! So Susan should use up her 15 minutes to the max before everyone forgets who she is!
UPDATE: ABC has denied that Susan will appear on the show.

Ana and her husband Noah Lebenzon welcomed Paloma Louise Lebenzon to the world on Saturday.
She was born at 4:25pm in New York and weighed 7lbs, 10oz.
A rep for the actress said: "She is elated and completely glowing," said Ortiz's rep.
"She is surrounded by her friends and family and so happy to be a mom. She is just really enjoying the moment. The baby is absolutely beautiful."
Congrats to the happy couple! Wonder if Ana is going to have 'Bring Your Kid to Work' days on the set of Ugly Betty?
