In honor of vampire Edward Cullen’s fictional 111th birthday (not a national holiday…yet) the studio behind the beloved vampire tale has finally released the teaser trailer for Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.
Believe it or not, there hasn’t been a trailer longer that 10 seconds where we actually see Bella (Kristen Stewart) as a vampire, other than brief glimpses of her red eyes and pale hands.
Bella’s transformation from human to vampire and relationship with her hybrid vampire-human kid is the central thrust of the new flick.
The trailer opens with Bella’s voice-over, “After 18 years of being utterly ordinary, I finally found that I can shine. I was born to be a vampire.”
Uhh, logic flaw, here. Nobody is “born” to be a vampire, technically one would have “died” to become a vampire.
For all you non-Twihards, I will try to sum of the plot of this film in as few words as possible. Bella is a vampire now. She has a daughter named Renesmee and the Vampire mafia (The Volturi) want to kill Renesmee. That is as “in a nutshell” as I can get without geeking out about it.
Also, respected actor Michael Sheen plays the head of the Volturi and is giving the creepiest performance of his life.
There are lots of hesitant glares, holding of breaths, flickering red eyes and admonitions of fear like, “I have to report a crime. The Cullens have done something terrible” and also Michael Sheen saying “Oh my” in such a way that makes me feel very uncomfortable.
The film opens on November 16. Not to brag or anything, but I have that date committed to memory. No Google needed. The flick stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.
