According to the Hollywood Reporter, FX did the deal with Summit Entertainment, which also includes a few other movies; but none with the popularity of the Twilight franchise.
FX will start running Twilight beginning in late 2011. New Moon, which opened at $142.8 million domestically this past weekend, will be available in late 2012.
Eclipse, which is slated for a June 30 release, will have its premiere on FX in early 2013. Summit has yet to green-light production on Breaking Down.
According to the report, FX could end up paying close to $100 million for the four movies. But it’s well worth it! They’ll definitely get their money’s worth!
