Simon Cowell already makes the big bucks off American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent, but according to
Radar, he’s about to have his money growing on trees.
Simon is reportedly in talks with Fox to negotiate a major deal that would keep him with the network for the next five years. Guess we can get used to seeing his mug for a long time on Idol!
Simon has teamed up with British retail tycoon Sit Philip Green to develop a TV deal to create new shows for them in the U.S. and in the U.K.
All profits from the new projects would go directly into Cowell and Green’s pockets. This is a huge deal since Simon’s contract with Idol is done after next year.
The
New York Post is reporting that if the deal goes through, it’s likely Cowell will surpass what Oprah’s empire pulls in each year, which is $275 million.
