Simon Cowell on your TV screen! The American Idol judge has just signed a deal to bring X Factor to the U.S.
The
Daily Mirror claims the contract is worth more than $100 million a year. As of now, Cowell is reportedly expected to earn $50 million a season on Idol. So this will make him ridiculously rich.
It’s not yet known if Simon will be a judge on the American version of X Factor. The show is widely popular in the U.K., and it’s how Leona Lewis was discovered. But it’s a little too similar to Idol for our liking.
Is Simon perhaps trying to replace Idol with his own show? We’ll have to wait and see! But in the meantime, he’s earning a pretty penny as a judge on Idol!
