Ricky Gervais to Host Golden Globes

Funny guy Ricky Gervais is the chosen one! The lucky guy will be the host of next years Golden Globes. Why is he lucky you ask? It's because the globes hasn't had a host since 1995.

The 67th annual Golden Globes Awards will take place on January 17, 2010.

Coincidentally, Gervais is a Golden Globe winner so he knows a thing or two about the awards show.

"Not only is this the biggest Hollywood celebration of the industry which includes both film and TV, but also an environment where I feel I can get free reign as a host," Gervais said in a press release. "I have resisted many other offers like this, but there are just some things you don't turn down."

The Golden Globe nominees will be announced Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 8 a.m. EST.
