Since
Paula Abdul is no longer guest starring on Ugly Betty, producers had to look elsewhere to fill the role. So now, former 3rd Rock From The Sun star Kristen Johnston will be filling in.
According to
Entertainment Weekly, Johnson landed the role after Paula’s contract fell through.
She jokingly says of her new role, “I’ve always considered myself a poor man’s Paula Abdul.”
Kristen also gave some details on the role, saying, “[Helen is] Amanda in 10 years. She’s still trying to get into the right clubs, wearing tight dresses… tragic. I think [Helen] sees herself as Samantha from Sex and the City. Except, of course, she’s a temp.”
Tune in to see Kristen make her Ugly Betty debut on the show’s two-hour season opener, airing October 9th on ABC.
