Maura Tierney's Tumor Treatment Delays Shooting of New Show
July 13, 2009
Maura Tierney is best known for her role on the long-running ER. But unfortunately she’s in the news today for health problems she’s having. Maura will reportedly be undergoing surgery to treat a tumor in her breast.

Maura also has a new series coming out this fall on NBC called Parenthood, and this has delayed production on the show. She released a statement today to clear up any rumors.

ER Series Finale Draws In 16 Million Viewers

ER finally came to an end last night, after 15 seasons on the air. But the NBC hit didn’t go out quietly. The show proved its popularity as 16.3 million viewers tuned in to watch. This was even bigger than when George Clooney returned to the show last month. The finale was the most-watch drama finale since Murder, She Wrote ended in 1996. It was also way up from the average 9.3 million who regularly tune in.

ER fans have been waiting for years for Dr. Doug Ross aka George Clooney to return back to ER and the wait came to an end in last nights episode.

George Clooney returned back to the small screen as Dr. Doug Ross on Thursday's ER.

Alexis Bledel to Appear on ER Finale

Susan Sarandon Joins George Clooney on ER

Great news for all you ER fans, not only is George Clooney coming back for the final season of the long-running NBC hit, but fellow Oscar winner Susan Sarandon will be making a cameo as well.

According to E!'s Kristin Dos Santos, Susan was spotted at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank last week filming scenes for the finale.

George Clooney Returning to ER

Dr. Doug Ross will be making a comeback on ER on the shows final episodes.

George Clooney had his start on ER before moving on to making movies. Clooney was last seen on ER in 2000.

The want to keep his appearance a secret for the time being, that’s why ER co-creator John Wells has ordered a closed set.
