David Letterman fired?? Apparently
Sarah Palin followers do! Last week, Dave and Sarah got into it after he made an inappropriate joke about her daughter. During a taping last week, Dave said that during the 7th inning of a Yankee game her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.
The comment was obviously a joke, but Sarah Palin didn’t think so. She made a statement demanding an apology from Letterman to not only her daughter, but to young women everywhere.
In an interview with Matt Lauer, Sarah said, "I would like to see him apologize to young women across the country ... for contributing to that thread that is throughout our culture that makes it sound like it is ... OK, accepted and funny to talk about statutory rape."
And now it’s gone even farther. A group has assembled to create the website FireDavidLetterman.com, stating this as their purpose: “to protest disgusting sexual jokes made against Governor Palin and her teenage daughters” and to hold Letterman “accountable for his disgraceful statements.”
The group intends on having a rally at the Ed Sullivan Theater (where Letterman shoots) today at 4:30PM. Do you think this has gotten out of hand? Or should Dave just apologize and get it over with?
