Dancing with the Stars
Olympian Shawn Johnson has a new trophy to add to her collection--a big shinny disco ball.

The petite dancing queen beat out Melissa Rycroft and Gilles Marini and was crowned the season 8 winner of Dancing with the Stars.

“This means the world to me,” Johnson said minutes after taking possession of her new trophy. “We worked so hard just to make it to the finals. This is the best.”

The 17-year-old Olympic gold medalist and her partner Mark Ballas were on fire Tuesday night. But their win must have upset Marini, because not much separated the two dancers — less than 1% — the smallest margin between a winner and loser in Dancing’s eight seasons.

“Shawn’s freestyle was the best of all of them. With cha cha cha, tango, waltz — they all have a structure. But in the freestyle anything goes and you may or may not get it right. Shawn and Mark got it right. The other two [Marini and Melissa Rycroft] did not get it right,” Judge Bruno Tonioli told People magazine.

Johnson missed her high school prom to be apart of this show, so being crowned the champion certainly made up for that! Who were you rooting for? Are you happy or upset about Johnson's win? Tell us your thoughts!

Yes, I believe she deserved to win....The free-style dance is what did it for them. It was fast and upbeat and fun to watch. Cheryl and Gilles were trying too much to be sexy. Shawn and Mark were great. Remember speed wins.

I loved Shawn, but it was pretty surprising. I thought Gilles had it in the bag. Most of the men on those always do. The women always have to work more. But I think it's because he's French and nobody knows who he is, whereas Shawn had fans before the show.

Nadya "Octomom" Suleman is the only true winner. Blidness, neglect and oblivion is a group of adjectives of our motto against a mum of 14.

I personally think there should be an age limit on dancing. Of course an olymphian 17 year old girl is going to win over Older, no experience contestants! It just doesn't seem realistic and/or fair to those five-plus years older. gggrrr

What is going on with America, that girl didn't deserved to win. I am completely in shock.
