Ashlee Simpson is going back to her roots. The new mom is going to be a resident at Melrose Place.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Simpson-Wentz "will play Melrose Place's newest resident, Violet, a bright-eyed but shrewd small-town girl and recent L.A. transplant who has come to town with a secret."

Simpson made her acting debut on the CW's 7th Heaven seven years ago.

New parents Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz will be getting a quick breather from diaper changes when they both guest star on CSI: NY. That’s right!

The two of them are starring together on an episode. According to Entertainment Weekly, Ash and Pete signed a deal to appear on the show. And according to their rep, the couple won’t be playing themselves.

This trend of hiring celebrities as guest stars isn’t going anywhere....

Don't do it Ashlee and Pete! Reality shows are relationship killers. Joe Simpson is ready to pimp out daughter number two on MTV.

He says Jessica's rise to major stardom was a direct result of Newlyweds, and he's hoping the same will happen with Ashlee.

Only problem is, everyone loved Jessica and Nick back in the day, and no one will ever care about Ashlee half as much. Sad but true.
