poor don! I feel so sorry for him. he apologized enough. Whatever happened to free speech? People often call people names anyway. Rap singers often call women as bitches, but they don't get sanctioned for it. Its not fair the way he's treated.

That's what you get for apologizing to shakedown artists and "oversensitive" prehensile leeches. He should have told them to F off. He's got enough money to be able to do that. Plus, he brought CBS about $50 million a year in revenue. I'm sure he'll have another show in no time.

I can stand that old fucker...he is an old racist bastard and always was. But the media really blew it out of proportion and do you know why?
Because alot of people couldn't stand Imus. He had alot of enemies high up in MSNBC and CBS. The head of CBS radio was a Imus supporter and he was pushed out about a month ago. So Imus had no one to protect him from this bullshit. It couldn't have happened to a "nicer" guy...now they need to get Rush Limbaugh off the air, but Jessie "Baby Daddy" Jackson and Mr. Smooth Shaprton wouldn't dare attack Limbaugh because Limbaugh's minions would bring them down. Personally, as a black woman, I wasn't that offended, I got the stupid joke and didn't think more about it. Why? Because we were supposed to have the 1st Amendment and now Americans have become such of bunch of babies, no wonder the rest of the world has no fear or respect for us. If you can't take a little ribbing, then you are a fool. But goodbye Imus, and good riddence.

Don Anus ( Imus) SPECIFICALLY besmirched the reputation of totally innocent, brilliant, spiritually-devout, virginal, hard-working, VALEDICTORIAN black female TEENAGERS when he INSANELY called them "ho's!!" Outside of the FACT that their fathers probably dreamed of punching him in the nose, the young ladies themselves could have SUED Imus for SLANDER! Rappers with horrific lyrics rapping about some generic "ho" out "there" somewhere were NOT doing the same thing as verbally assaulting SPECIFIC, totally INNOCENT, brilliant young ladies with that word which connotes SEXUAL LICENTIOUSNESS! Imus should STILL be ashamed of himself and he SHOULD have been thrown out of his job onto his cocaine-riddled NOSE!

Yet another bizarre situation in the Imus affair is the way "apologists" for Imus LIE through their TEETH about black "leaders." They stupidly accuse them of "having a double standard," when nothing could be farther from the truth! MILLIONS of people know that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have spoken out against offensive lyrics. Al Sharpton devotes an entire chapter in one of his books to the problem. Jesse Jackson presided over a huge conference against offensiveness in rap, at which rappers themselves were present. For crazy racist whites to PRETEND blacks haven't been having a virtual CIVIL WAR over rap right under their noses is beyond strange!!

Yet another strange "criticism" of the firing is the cry of, "What about free speech?" That is a puzzling reaction considering Don Imus USED his free speech - against INNOCENT TEENAGED GIRLS, no less - yet he was not stoned to death nor jailed. In FACT he is gone because WE used OUR right to free speech to call for his OUSTER. Imus can go on saying whatever he wants, but as public figures and as private citizens, our words often have consequences. A murderer can apologize, but he still has to go to jail for life. So too, must Imus pay for SLANDERING innocent, brilliant, spiritually-devout VIRGINS as "sexually licentious" via the INSANELY uttered word, "ho's!"

It was absoulte bullshit that Imus was fired! There is a HUGE fucking double standard in this country when it comes to race jokes! If a nigger comedian makes a white joke it is fine. But if a white man makes a joke about a nigger all fucking hell breaks lose!!!!!
