statement apologizing about the racial slur they used on the show ‘Desperate Housewives.”
Turns out that a U.S.-based national organization of Filipinos and Filipino Americans is preparing a $500M class suit against the network.
Filipino Americans believe that their apology was just not enough. One Filipino lawyer said the class suit is needed to protect the reputation and credibility of Filipino doctors.
??“The reputations of doctors are affected, their income is affected and this is a major damage inflicted not only on them but also the universities in the Philippines," said lawyer Ted Laguatan.
This is definitely gonna get dirty! I’m sure it will teach the networks a lesson to not use racial terms so lightly.
