The third season of HBO’s True Blood is almost here! The network has just released the trailer for the highly anticipated third season of the hit show, and it looks racier than ever!
Hollyscoop caught up with two of the stars of the show—Joe Manganiello and Carrie Preston—at the Victoria’s Secret “What Is Sexy” party at the W Hollywood, and they gave us the scoop on the new season.
Manganiello told us EXCLUSIVELY, “Werewolves show up—that is what I can tell you. There is going to be a lot of blood and people dying.”
“It’s definitely the werewolf season,” added Preston. “Some others are coming, I don’t know if I'm allowed to say. If you have read the books you know what I’m talking about.”
As for the huge obsession people have with True Blood, Preston told us, “We have an obsession with youth in this culture. The vampire represents eternal youth, I really think it’s as simple as that. Then I also think that people get excited to see if they were devoured by the object of their affection. You are consuming someone and they are consuming you.”
Manganiello added, “I think it real, that is why. You kind of believe it. I think the characters are great—you fall in love with them and then you die.”
We had to ask if there would be any big guest stars by celebs this season, like there was last year with Evan Rachel Wood. Joe dished to us, “The great thing about the show is that they have prided themselves in discovering new people. You are going to see a lot of fresh faces and a lot of people that are amazing. It’s the most talented cast I have worked with.”
So we’ll take that as a yes? We already heard via EW that 90210’s Michael Steger is joining the show, and will play a gay prostitute! As for Preston, her lips were sealed. “I don’t know if I have any cameos to tell you about,” she said. “There is definitely a huge cast, we have doubled. You go to these table reads and there are 15 people there that you have never seen before. Not all of them make it, but a few are being introduced.”
We can’t wait! Check out the trailer below.
