Will Smith Goes to the Dark Side

Tom Cruise

Don't look into Tom Cruise's eyes! You'll either end up a pregnant Stepford wife or you'll become a scientologist. Cruise's longtime pal Will Smith admits to studying Scientology with Tom.

Smith tells Men's Vogue, "I've studied Buddhism and Hinduism, and I've studied Scientology through Tom [Cruise]."

Apparently his wife Jada is into it to. "She's more gung-ho about Scientology than Will," says a source closes to the couple.

Smith continued, "Ninety-eight percent of the principles [in Scientology] are identical to the principles of the Bible. . . . I don't think that because the word someone uses for spirit is 'thetan' that the definition becomes any different."

I wonder who's next! I'm thinking Tom is going to convert the Beckhams by this time next year. Who do you think will be Tom's next victim?

WOW I AM SO SAD TO HEAR THIS. I WILL PRAY FOR WILL AND HIS WIFE JADA TO BE ABLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH. SCIENTOLOGY IS NOTHING LIKE THE BIBLE, IT IS A CULT.

You know, there's all this nonsense of romanticizing the "spiritual seeker." I prefer someone like Ted Turner - a guy who may be an asshole in some respects but has always known who he is. I find nothing admirable about the navel-gazing that's at the root of some stars' interest in $cientology. These are just shallow, self-centered people latching onto a "religion" for the shallow and self-centered.

I love Will Smith, but am deeply disappointed in him. I thought he was smarter than that. If he thinks there is not difference between Scientology and Christianity, then he has become comfortable with the thought of an eternity in hell. I guess he will go anywhere or do anything for Jada. Idiot!

He's come a long way from West Philadelphia.

Too bad will has fallen into this trap.

I agree with Will Smith! I'm tired to see how people don't respect Cruise's beliefs. Why not? We are all free to do what we want in life and to practice the religion of our choice. Freedom of thought - does it sound familiar to you? It's part of the Constitution and the Human Rights. Don't do to others what you don't want others to do to you - it's the Golden Rule – sounds familiar? Start using it!

Oh, Joxe, please. Has anyone ever pointed out to you that your freedom to hold whatever religious beliefs you choose doesn't include freedom from ridicule for those beliefs? If you believe the world is flat, or you believe Xenu is menacing us, I'm free to make fun of that.

Check out xenu.net for the truth about the scam called Scientology.

Not everyone is willing to have a sense of community. Historically, religion has been one expression of a community's common beliefs, and politics another.

lermanet.com also. Scientology is nothing like Christianity, nor is it really a religion as they themselves have even said. I hope one day someone tells Will Smith about the Xenu story and he bitch slaps Tom Cruise for even trying to treat him like a fool by trying to get him in to Scientology.

What's even scarier is that the new John Travolta musical Hairspray is being advertised right under the comments as I type this... But still, I'm sad because he's been one of my favorite celebrities since the late 80s!

Seriously I don't follow up on this scientology stuff but I've always wondered that if it was a "real" religion... why are only the RICH involved in it? What gives? I never hear of poor people attending this institution. If it's so wonderful then wouldn't you think that everyone is entitled to a piece of the pie? People knock it because it's all about money and you only hear how celebrities are involved in it. I'm not gonna pick on will smith but it does seem a bit "cultish" when it's clearly a religion based on status and income!

Let's see: Virgin Birth Rose from the dead Changed water into wine Priests and children Jesus is my savior (never even met the man) ummm hmmm and you think Will Smith and Tom Cruise are weird

I'm a Scientologist and I'm not rich. There are thousands of us in L.A. (Boo!) and none I know of have the status or money Tom Cruise has. Your knowledge of Scientology is based on what you do follow up on - Media Gossip.
