Tom Hanks will be receiving honors for his work in film at this year's 36th annual gala for The Film Society of Lincoln Center. Hanks will be recognized for this ability to make the role of "a good man compelling" according to the Associated Press.
Director of programming for the event Kent Jones says, "There are so few actors who have been able to make the struggle and drama of being a good man compelling. With his talent, his presence, his versatility, his sense of humor, he has set a very high standard for his fellow actors."
Meryl Streep was last year's honoree, so it's obvious they reserve their awards for the cream of the crop!
