Tom Hanks has an excuse not to go to church…he's been banned from them! The diocese in Rome has forbidden Tom and other producers of Angels and Demons, which is currently shooting in Italy, to shoot in two churches in the city. They say the plot line of the movie is too controversial.
Monsignor Marco Fibbi says, ''It's a film that treats religious issues in a way that contrasts with common religious sentiment. We would be helping them create a work that might well be beautiful but that does not conform to our views.''
There are hundreds of beautiful churches in Italy, so we're sure the producers will be able to find a replacement if they do a little research.
