Steve Jobs passed away today after a long battle with Pancreatic cancer. His life is an incredible American success story.

From dropping out of college after 6 months, to creating the Apple company at age 20, to being fired from his own company, co-founding Pixar, to returning to Apple and turning it into the revolutionary technology company that it has become today, his life is worthy of being documented on film.

Many great men and women have had their lives turned into biopics. Hollywood loves a good success story and I don't know anyone more deserving of his own film than Steve Jobs.

Every time you talk on your iPhone, buy music from iTunes, type on your Macbook Pro, or enjoy watching Pixar's "Finding Nemo" for the umpteenth time, you can thank Steve Jobs.

So that begs the questions, which actor would best play Steve Jobs in a film about his own life?
To make your way from the Hollywood D-list to it's esteemed A-list, you have to be selective in your career choices. Some celebs are good at it, others aren't so good, and yet others just get lucky. Some don't really need another career boost, but might be kicking themselves, anyway, after passing on something epic.

So why do celebs pass on these epic roles? Sometimes it's scheduling conflicts. Sometimes they're just too busy. And sometimes, a story about a ghost stalking his ex-girlfriend just sounds silly. Either way, there are plenty of stars who missed out on legendary gigs because they didn't make it work. Here are ten celebrities that passed up big movie roles. Check out our comparisons below...

Molly Ringwald: Molly Ringwald could've made it past the eighties if she would've said yes to the lead role in Pretty Woman or Ghost. What was she waiting for? You don’t get any more interesting than movies about hookers and ghosts. She was also offered a part in Scream but turned it down because she was in her late twenties and didn’t want a teenage role. Can you imagine her replacing Julia Roberts?

I wish I could tell people the reason for my awful haircut is that I’m getting into character, but I don’t see that working.

Celebs, on the other hand, have the luxury of blaming their changing looks on the colorful roles they take on. And because stars are called out for every flaw, sometimes getting a bad haircut—or even shaving it all off—can be liberating. Other times, it leaves them feeling like the lead singer of a 90s punk band, and they opt for extensions. Here are 10 celebs and the bad haircuts they got for movie roles.

Natalie Portman: When Natalie Portman was filming V for Vendetta, her long, beautiful locks were chopped off during filming. In a single shot, the one-take-wonder had her natural hair shaved-off while the cameras were rolling, and she was in character crying.

Javier Bardem: Javier Bardem’s Dora The Explorer haircut in No Country for Old Men was so bad, it left the actor depressed.

Costar Josh Brolin claimed: “[Javier] was depressed during the process…he felt like he wouldn’t have sex for three months. Full-blown depression. I mean, bad.”

“I think there will be, yeah. I think they’re working on it now.” Tom told Hollyscoop at the Larry Crowne movie premiere in Los Angeles: “I hope they need me.”

Most celebs promote a new movie by touring the press junkets, stopping by the late night shows, and maybe the weirdest thing would be going to Comic-Con. But not for actor, writer, director Tom Hanks as he spent a long time this morning on Spanish speaking US morning show, Despierta America, doing everything but promoting his new film Larry Crowne.

I’m guessing that Hanks was a guest on the Spanish morning show to promote his movie, but he mostly just fooled around on the weather report, ate hot peppers on the cooking segment, and made fun of his translator’s deep voice.
